Suzanne Wilkinson joins Niagara Biennial Design Awards Jury

The Niagara Region is home to the Niagara Biennial Design Awards, a prestigious event held every two years to honour outstanding design achievements across the region. Since its inception in 2020, the program has highlighted a wide array of innovative design solutions that enhance Niagara’s diverse built environments. This initiative celebrates the vital role played by a creative network of designers, artists, fabricators, builders, and property owners, all of whom contribute to the local economy. Their work navigates complex challenges related to sustainability, inclusivity, livability, vibrancy, and climate change. The Niagara Biennial continues to position Niagara as a hub for exceptional design.

This year, Figure3’s Principal, Suzanne Wilkinson, was invited to join the jury panel which was comprised of representatives across the various program disciplines. Other Jury members included Architect/Partner at Superkül, Meg Graham, international artist Maha Mustafa, Landscape Architect Peter North, and Architect, Planner and Urban Designer, Eric Turcotte.

“It was an honour to be selected for this year’s Niagra Biennial Design Award Jury and a fantastic experience to sit down as experts in our respective disciplines to discuss the projects that were put forth in this year’s competition.” said Wilkinson.
