Fax Capital’s new Toronto headquarters is a refined expression of who they are: a family-focused, formal, and forward-thinking organization with a deep appreciation for simplicity, warmth, and authenticity. Designed by Figure3, the space delivers on their core values of trustworthiness and sophistication—while subtly signaling that this is a team that can think outside the box.
From the beginning, the vision was clear. The new office needed to foster collaboration, support focused work, enhance technology and acoustics, and reflect the company’s culture in every square foot. The design approach brought together classic detailing and contemporary functionality, grounded by an overarching aesthetic described as “cocktails meet smoothies”—where the polish of a cocktail lounge meets the comfort and ease of a favorite café.
A soft, neutral palette, warm materiality, and calm, welcoming spaces create a backdrop for the client’s impressive art collection, which flows naturally through the space as part of the design narrative. The office layout was purposefully opened up to provide greater access to daylight and views, and to increase staff connection. Sit-stand desks were provided for all team members, and a variety of meeting spaces—both formal and informal—encourage interaction and flexibility.
At the heart of the space is a central lounge: an open, cozy environment designed as both a ‘collision point’ for staff and a polished destination for entertaining clients. It’s these layered, multifunctional zones that define the Fax Capital experience—classic and elevated, yet approachable and human.
Every detail supports the broader goal of attracting and retaining top talent while elevating the everyday. From acoustic privacy to spatial efficiency, the design balances performance and comfort with a bespoke feel throughout. Existing furniture was thoughtfully integrated and refurbished where possible, further grounding the project in practical and sustainable decision-making.
By shaping a workplace that feels both curated and comfortable, Figure3 helped Fax Capital bring their values to life through space—creating an environment that is as considered and trustworthy as the people who work within it.
