Cineplex

At their longstanding mid-town Toronto headquarters location, Cineplex was ready for major change. Using a portion of their space on the ground floor, Cineplex decided to pilot a new design in favour of a modernized, open space to better connect their staff to the brand. This space would at last reflect their work and company culture.

Cineplex’s new agile office encourages innovation and collaboration within their cross functional teams, enabling the company and their staff to do their best work. The new space is now an inspiring environment creating a strong connection between staff and the consumer by immersing them into the Cineplex brand and culture. Visitors of the space are immediately immersed into the Cineplex brand, met with the iconic logo in the office entrance and a playful cinematic quote on the mosaic floor; “You had me at hello” from Jerry Maguire.

Now with only three private offices, the space is open with flexible work stations that encourage employee connection. Privacy pods are located throughout allowing for focused heads-down work. Large red tables used by their construction teams to review architectural drawings create a distinction between the offices and work stations, and feature a canopy of bulbs overhead inspired by old school movie theatre marquees. Large yellow tables are also placed on the perimeter of the workspace for ad hoc meetings, with lights retrofitted into cages overhead resembling stage lights as seen on movie sets. Having workstations along the exterior perimeter allow natural light to flow throughout the space. The meeting rooms themselves feel like their own lightboxes, with graphic imagery and multi-coloured privacy glazing which help with wayfinding.
