Clockworks 3 was envisioned as the place for cool, young fun people, targeting millennials transitioning from downtown Toronto living to a more relaxed yet interconnected community environment. The design needed to be lighthearted, approachable, and youthful, yet timeless and connected to the aesthetic of the other Clockworks buildings.
Featuring well-lit, open interiors and premium finishes the design inspiration was drawn from the condo’s name, Clockworks, and the concept of time. The design prominently features rounded forms to symbolize the continuity of time as well as reflective and layered materials to capture movement, repetition of forms, and contrast to depict the flow of light. The design combined bold colour and finish palettes tailored to each space’s intended use, with reds in the party room for an active vibe and green tones in the lobby to create a tranquil arrival experience. Fun and youthful furniture and lighting selections created a cohesive story that resonates with the youthful demographic and brings an urban feel to suburban surroundings. The lobby space offers an engaging and activated environment for the ‘coffee shop’ working crowd and features variable seating options such as banquettes and a communal table.
